These maps are included with a series of 11 scientific papers published this week in a special issue of the journal Icarus.<\/div><\/div>\n<p><strong>Vesta Topography Map<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/1920x1080_autoletterbox\/public\/pia17037.jpg?itok=Fs9YVupX\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/1366x768_autoletterbox\/public\/pia17037.jpg?itok=59_0PBGa\" alt=\"\" width=\"1366\" height=\"768\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/1920x1080_autoletterbox\/public\/pia17037.jpg?itok=Fs9YVupX\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>IMAGE (full res)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission_pages\/dawn\/multimedia\/pia17037.html#.VGzfo8lUmoo\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>INFO<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default\"><div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">This color-coded topography map from NASA&#8217;s Dawn mission shows the giant asteroid Vesta in an equirectangular projection at 32 pixels per degree, relative to an ellipsoid of 177 miles by 177 miles by 142 miles (285 kilometers by 285 kilometers by 229 kilometers). The color scale extends from 13.96 miles (22.47 kilometers) below the surface in purple to 12.11 miles (19.48 kilometers) above the surface in white.
