A second meteorite with a weight of 41 grams was found around noon on 12 January 2015 by astronomers of the Czech Astronomical Institute (Astronomick\u00fd \u00fastav Akademie v\u011bd \u010cesk\u00e9 republiky (As\u00da)) according to the Czech television (\u010cesk\u00e9 televize (\u010cT1), 12 January 2015, 19:00 CET). The meteorite was found by the astronomer Tom\u00e1\u0161 Henych near the village Vat\u00edn (~ 49\u00b031’15.19″N, 15\u00b058’13.17″E, 5 km southeast of \u017d\u010f\u00e1r nad S\u00e1zavou) after only 20 minutes of searching only 19 meters away from Dr. Ji\u0159\u00ed Borovi\u010dka and Dr. Pavel Spurn\u00fd’s calculated fall location for a meteorite of this weight. The meteoroid’s largest detonation that produced thousands of smaller fragments happened at an altitude of 37 km. It took between 5.5 (for meteorites with a weight of 40 g) and 8 minutes (for meteorites with a weight of 6 g) to fall to the ground at a speed of 30 to 40 m\/s. The strewn field is up to 30 km long.
\nOn 10 January Dr. Jakub Haloda and his wife Dr. Patricie Halodov\u00e1 of the Czech Geological Survey classified the first found meteorite as a chondrite of type L 3.9<\/strong>. Spurn\u00fd favors the name Zdar nad Sazavou<\/strong> (Zdar for short)*<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
