Two of these meteorites (NWA 10675 and NWA 12328) had yet to be examined using this technique. Using the full width at half-maximum (FWHM) of the polyaromatic carbonaceous matter defect (D) band, we estimated their peak metamorphic temperature (PMT). The PMTs show that Allende and NWA 10675 have experienced the highest temperatures, while Ivuna and Tagish Lake experienced the lowest temperatures, consistent with their petrologic classifications. In addition to the carbonaceous matter, we examined the following mineral phases in detail: olivine and pyroxene. For olivine, we calculated the forsterite number (Fo#, a measure of the Mg content) using the doublet peak located in the 800\u2013860 cm\u22121 region. Finally, we show that the D3 band is well correlated with the PMT, opening the possibility for a new Raman thermometer.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lorraine Rosell\u00f3 Del Valle, Kerri L.
