Chelyabinsk main mass weighs 505 kg on average
Since the former gravimetric measurements of the Chelyabinsk main mass to determine its final weight were not precise the museum staff has found a new scale to weigh the Chelyabinsk main mass again. The main mass as it is exhibited in the museum today was weighed three times. The correct weight of the mass is between 505 and 510 kg. Officially it was determined to be 505 kg. The new correct weight (minus about 5kg of water that will probably evaporate from the inside of the mass in the future) together with the meteorite’s volume of 0.1533 m³ result in a density of the main mass of 3.26g/cm³.
